Roberto Firmino has promised supporters a new book featuring details and stories of his eight-year Liverpool career.
Firmino was a firm fan favourite throughout his successful stine at the club. He signed from Hoffenheim in 2015 for £29m, arriving as an attacker midfielder under previous manager Brendan Rodgers.
It wasn’t until Jurgen Klopp got his hands on the Brazilian that his true potential was finally unlocked, though. Shifting into the centre-forward position, he became a pressing, goalscoring demon that redefined the role and caused opposition defences nightmares.
To this day Firmino remains the most-used player by the German coach during his ongoing time at Anfield, making 355 appearances in total with James Milner’s 323 the next closest.
But now the 32-year-old’s time at the club is over. It came to an emotional end as he scored a last-gasp equaliser at Aston Villa at Anfield before his contract expired at the end of last season.
Firmino’s aura that got the Reds crowd singing his popular chant at any opportunity will be missed, but the future is not all bleak. Supporters have new faces to look forward to seeing, such as Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo, while Firmino himself has offered a chance to reminisce through his new book titled ‘Si Senor: My Liverpool Years’.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, in a video he explained: “There is something I want you to know!
“I’m happy to announce my book, ‘Si Senor: My Liverpool Years’, where I share all my experience with Liverpool FC!
“The book is out on November 9, and you can pre-order a signed copy now! God bless you all.”
Former team-mates and coaches reacted to the news, commenting their support. Jordan Henderson – who like Firmino now plays in the Saudi Pro League – replied with a clapping hands and heart emojis. The old Reds captain also brought out an autobiography about his career in 2022.
Fellow Brazilian Lucas Leiva and goalkeeper coach John Achterberg similarly responded with fire, clapping hands and heart emojis to the news.
