Report: Patriots want to hire Ben McAdoo

The Patriots are “in discussions” to hire Ben McAdoo as an assistant coach, according to SI.com’s Albert Breer. McAdoo will focus on assisting offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt while serving as an assistant coach under Jerod Mayo.

McAdoo was the Giants’ head coach for two seasons and went 13-15 before being fired four games into the 2017 season.McAdoo, 46, last served as the Panthers’ offensive coordinator in 2022.

He previously served as the Giants’ offensive coordinator in 2014-15.He also coached offensive line, tight ends and quarterbacks during his 18-year career with seven different teams. McAdoo had stops with the Saints, 49ers, Packers, Giants, Jaguars, Cowboys and Panthers.
