The Patriots have retained Brian Belichick, who is the team’s safeties coach through 2020, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
Brian began his coaching career as a scouting assistant in New England in 2016 before being promoted to assistant coach from 2017 to 2019 and safeties coach in 2020.He worked closely with first-year head coach Jerod Mayo during his time as the team’s linebackers coach.
Brian’s older brother Steve recently left the organization after 11 years to become the new defensive coordinator at the University of Washington. Steve has held a variety of positions with the Patriots, including safeties coach, defensive backs coach and outside linebackers coach.
