Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin Confirms Star Offensive set to Leave in Free Agency

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed today that offensive tackle Dan Moore Jr. will not return to the team next season as he plans to test free agency. The announcement comes amidst speculation regarding Moore’s future, as the Steelers prioritize retooling their offensive line for the upcoming season.

“Dan has been an integral part of our team, and we respect his decision to explore opportunities elsewhere,” Tomlin said during a press conference. “We appreciate everything he’s done for us, and we wish him nothing but the best moving forward.”

Moore, a fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, quickly emerged as a reliable starter for the Steelers. Over his three seasons with the team, Moore demonstrated durability and steady growth, playing a crucial role in protecting quarterback Kenny Pickett and aiding the Steelers’ rushing attack.

Reports suggest that Moore will garner significant interest on the open market, with teams looking for experienced and versatile offensive linemen. The Steelers, meanwhile, are expected to address the position in the upcoming draft or through their own free agency moves.

As the offseason begins, the Steelers face critical decisions in solidifying their roster while maintaining their competitive edge in the AFC North.
