The NFL has fined Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick $11,255 for unnecessary roughness during the Week 16 game against the Baltimore Ravens.
The penalty occurred in the second quarter when Baltimore wide receiver Zay Flowers caught a pass from Lamar Jackson and was brought down by Fitzpatrick, who grabbed Flowers’ face mask. This resulted in a 14-yard gain to the Steelers’ 31-yard line. Following the play, Fitzpatrick was flagged for a 15-yard penalty, moving the Ravens into the red zone. On the ensuing drive, Jackson connected with Rashod Bateman for a 14-yard touchdown, giving the Ravens a 14-7 lead after an eight-play, 96-yard drive.
