If Najee Harris doesn’t return to the Pittsburgh Steelers next season, he’s unlikely to have trouble finding a new team. One potential destination already emerging is the Las Vegas Raiders, with star edge rusher Maxx Crosby openly campaigning for Harris to join him in Las Vegas.
Crosby praised Harris’s skills and leadership, emphasizing how his on-field production and off-field presence could make him a perfect fit for the Raiders.
“Why not?” Crosby said. “He’s from the Bay. Najee’s a baller. He’s the type of guy I want around—someone who’s all about winning and leading by example. He’s had 1,000 yards every year he’s played, which is impressive. He’s tough as hell and hard to bring down. Selfishly, I’d love for him to come to Vegas.”
Harris, who grew up in the Bay Area during the Raiders’ time in Oakland, could be drawn to the team if he hits free agency. His performance against the Raiders in Week 6—a 106-yard, one-touchdown game in Pittsburgh’s 32-13 win—clearly left an impression on Crosby.
Drafted in the first round in 2021, Harris has been a cornerstone of the Steelers’ offense for the past four seasons, amassing 4,312 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns. However, Pittsburgh declined his fifth-year option last offseason, signaling a likely end to his tenure with the team.
With numerous roster gaps to address, it appears retaining Harris is not a priority for the Steelers, paving the way for him to explore other opportunities with teams like the Raiders or others in need of a reliable running back.
