Olympic gold medalist and alpine skiing icon Lindsay Vonn has sparked speculation about her future after hinting at a possible retirement date during a recent interview.

Speaking at a winter sports conference in Aspen, Vonn, 40, reflected on her long and storied career, suggesting that she may officially step away from all competitive and exhibition events by the end of 2025. Although she retired from World Cup skiing in 2019 due to injuries, Vonn has remained active in the skiing world through mentoring, media appearances, and special events.

“I’ve loved every moment of being on the slopes, but I think it might be time to fully pass the torch,” Vonn said. “I’m considering wrapping up everything by the end of this year.”

Fans and fellow athletes responded with a mix of admiration and sadness, celebrating her contributions to the sport while expressing hope that she’ll continue to inspire future generations off the slopes.

While no official announcement has been made, Vonn’s comments suggest that 2025 may mark the final chapter of her active involvement in professional skiing.
