A day meant for adventure ended in heartbreak when a young boy died following a tragic skiing accident at a well-known mountain resort in New Hampshire.
According to resort officials, the incident occurred late Friday afternoon on one of the intermediate trails. Witnesses say the boy, whose identity has not yet been released pending family notification, appeared to lose control while skiing and collided with a tree.
Ski patrol was immediately dispatched and administered first aid on the scene before transporting the child to a nearby hospital. Despite the efforts of emergency responders and medical staff, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss,” said a spokesperson for the resort. “Our hearts go out to the family during this incredibly difficult time. The safety of our guests is always our top priority, and we are fully cooperating with authorities in their investigation.”
Local police and the resort’s safety team are conducting a full investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the accident. Weather conditions at the time were reported to be clear, and the trail was open and regularly maintained.
Grief counselors have been made available for resort guests and staff members affected by the incident.
This marks the second fatal accident at a New Hampshire ski resort this season, reigniting conversations around slope safety and the importance of wearing protective gear.
