BREAKING NEWS: Female skier dies in tragic accident in Perisher

 

 A tragic accident has claimed the life of a female skier at the popular Perisher Ski Resort in New South Wales earlier today.

 

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 11:30 AM, following reports that a woman in her 30s had suffered severe injuries after colliding with a tree on one of the resort’s intermediate trails. Despite the rapid response of ski patrol and paramedics, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

NSW Police have launched an investigation into the incident, and the area has been temporarily closed off to allow for a full examination of the circumstances surrounding the crash.

 

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic accident that occurred today. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim during this incredibly difficult time,” a spokesperson for Perisher said in a statement.

 

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the skier, pending formal identification and notification of next of kin.

 

This marks the first fatality of the 2025 ski season at Perisher, Australia’s largest ski resort. Officials are urging all skiers and snowboarders to exercise caution and adhere to safety guidelines, particularly as early-season conditions may vary.
