Shocking departures:12 wildcats who may never wear blue and white again…

The winds of change are sweeping through Lexington as a dozen Kentucky Wildcats may have suited up in blue and white for the last time. Following the end of a turbulent season and a coaching transition, the University of Kentucky basketball program is staring down one of the most dramatic roster overhauls in recent memory.

Head coach Mark Pope, entering his second season, is watching the core of last year’s roster walk out the door through a mix of NBA draft declarations, transfer decisions, and graduations.

The Departing Dozen

1. Rob Dillingham

After a breakout year where he dazzled fans with his speed and shot-making, Dillingham is headed to the 2025 NBA Draft. The SEC Sixth Man of the Year leaves as one of the most electric one-and-done players in recent memory.

2. Reed Sheppard

Kentucky’s hometown hero and National Freshman of the Year also declared for the draft. His all-around brilliance and basketball IQ made him a fan favorite, but the NBA has come calling.

3. Jaxson Robinson

A promising transfer who battled through injury, Robinson has now exhausted his eligibility and will likely pursue a professional career.

4. Lamont Butler

One of the most reliable backcourt defenders in the country, Butler graduates after providing veteran leadership and grit.

5. Koby Brea

The sharp-shooting senior was a major weapon from beyond the arc. He now graduates, leaving a big hole in Kentucky’s perimeter attack.

6. Andrew Carr

A stretch-four presence with solid rebounding skills, Carr graduates and will explore professional opportunities.

7. Amari Williams

The senior big man wraps up his collegiate career after anchoring the paint and protecting the rim with consistency.

8. Ansley Almonor

Known for his spacing and hustle, Almonor’s time at Kentucky ends with his graduation.

9. Travis Perry

One of the most surprising moves came from freshman guard Travis Perry, who entered the portal and committed to Ole Miss in search of a better fit and playing time.

10. Zvonimir Ivišić

The towering Croatian center followed former UK head coach John Calipari to Arkansas, joining a growing exodus to Fayetteville.

11. D.J. Wagner

Another Calipari loyalist, Wagner entered the transfer portal and chose to restart his college journey at Arkansas.

12. Adou Thiero

After briefly testing NBA waters, Thiero also landed in Arkansas, forming a Wildcat reunion under Coach Cal.

Who’s Still Deciding?

Otega Oweh is still mulling over his NBA Draft decision. The team’s leading scorer in 2024–25 hasn’t closed the door on returning, but the lure of the pros is strong.

Kerr Kriisa, the veteran guard sidelined by foot surgery last season, remains uncertain. He may pursue a medical redshirt or consider his pro options.

Looking Ahead

With so many exits, Coach Pope faces an uphill climb—but he’s already securing talent. High-profile recruit Jasper Johnson is on board, and Jaland Lowe withdrew from the NBA Draft to suit up for the Cats. The focus now shifts to rebuilding chemistry, leadership, and identity.

Fans may be shocked by the scale of these departures, but Pope remains optimistic. “We’ll reload, and we’ll compete,” he said. “Kentucky doesn’t rebuild—we reimagine.”

As the Bluegrass State looks ahead to a new chapter, only one thing’s for sure: the 2025–26 Wildcats will look a whole lot different.
