In a major boost for the program’s offseason momentum, four players from the Wildcats have been named in ESPN’s College Basketball Top 100 Transfer Portal Rankings, signaling the team’s growing reputation as a talent powerhouse.
Headlining the group is Jaylen Mitchell, a 6’6″ versatile forward who transferred from Baylor after averaging 12.8 points and 6.1 rebounds last season. Mitchell, ranked No. 18 on the list, brings elite defensive instincts and a reliable perimeter shot to the Wildcats’ roster.
Joining him are Tariq Simmons (No. 42), a sharpshooting guard from Georgia Tech known for his clutch performances, and Elijah Brooks (No. 67), a high-motor big man from UNLV who excels in pick-and-roll situations and rim protection.
Rounding out the group is Marcus Hill (No. 93), a crafty playmaker from Rhode Island who led his team in assists last season and is expected to add depth and leadership to the Wildcats’ backcourt.
Head coach Mark Pope expressed excitement about the new additions, stating, “This group brings a mix of experience, toughness, and hunger. They’re ready to compete at a high level and help us chase championships.”
With four players in the top 100, the Wildcats are poised for a strong season and could emerge as one of the top contenders in college basketball next year.
