ESPN Names Kentucky Wildcats Superstar as the Best Transfer in College Basketball in 2025

In a major recognition of his breakout season, ESPN has named Kentucky Wildcats forward Jayden Quitance as the top transfer in college basketball for 2025.

Quitance, who transferred to Kentucky after a standout year at Oregon, has been a force on both ends of the court. The 6’10” sophomore is averaging 19.3 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game, helping elevate the Wildcats back into the national spotlight and solidifying his status as one of the elite big men in the NCAA.

“Jayden Quitance has completely changed the identity of this Kentucky team,” said ESPN analyst Seth Greenberg. “He’s not just a transfer — he’s a franchise player at the college level.”

Head Coach Mark Pope praised Quitance’s immediate impact. “Jayden brought toughness, leadership, and a relentless work ethic from the moment he stepped on campus. He’s the kind of guy who makes everyone around him better.”

Quitance’s performance has helped propel Kentucky to a top-five national ranking, and with March Madness approaching, expectations are soaring for a deep tournament run.

“I’m just grateful for the opportunity,” Quitance said after learning about ESPN’s honor. “Transferring was a tough decision, but I believed in what Coach Calipari was building here — and now we’re chasing something special.”

As the postseason nears, Jayden Quitance is not only leading Kentucky — he’s rewriting the narrative on what a transfer can mean in modern college basketball.
