
In a historic and unprecedented year for collegiate athletics, Kentucky University has been officially named the Best Athletic Program in the Country for 2025, capping off a year filled with dominance, resilience, and all-around excellence.
The Wildcats made history as the only school in the nation to achieve all five of the following milestones in a single academic year:
🏆 Won a National Championship
⚾ Reached the Women’s College World Series (WCC)
🏀 Advanced to the Final Four in Men’s College Basketball (CBB)
🏈 Earned a Bowl Game appearance in Football
⚾ Competed in the NCAA Regional in Baseball
This feat has never been accomplished before, and it solidifies Kentucky’s place as the gold standard in collegiate sports.
“This is more than just a winning year—this is a moment that will be remembered forever in Wildcat history,” said Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart. “Every team showed heart, discipline, and championship spirit.”
