The Chiefs added a veteran with Super Bowl experience in their latest roster move.

The Kansas City Chiefs have made several roster moves ahead of their Week 15 matchup against the New England Patriots on Sunday. The team made two 53-man roster decisions, moved him to the practice squad twice and officially waived the receiver on Saturday. The main theme of the move is that some veterans with Super Bowl experience will get a chance to play on Sunday.First, the Chiefs officially waived WR Justin Ross.

The team currently has Ross suspended from the roster and was not included on the 53-man roster prior to the game. This means he will miss at least seven weeks of school due to his suspension. The team will also have to find a way to make room for him on the roster down the road, but they’ll be crossing a bridge once they get there. The Chiefs released LB Darius Harris from the 53-man roster. With Nick Bolton and Drew Tranquill both healthy and Cole Christiansen returning to the practice squad from injury, the writing is on the wall.On a related note, Deon Bush was added to the 53-man practice squad roster. With Mike Edwards missing practice time and Brian Cook injured, the squad was dangerously thin at the position. Bush was named to the 53-man roster last season and also played in Super Bowl LVII.

He was primarily a special teams player during his two seasons in Kansas City, but the coaching staff has high confidence in his ability to play the right tackle on defense. With Isiah Pacheco still out after recent shoulder surgery, the Chiefs have turned to RB Denerick Prince as their standard bearer. It will be the third and final promotion for Prince, who has yet to break through despite playing in the last two games. The team also used a standard wrench in Mike “The Beast” Pennel. It was Fennell’s first promotion since joining the team at the end of October. Pennel appeared with the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV and Super Bowl LV and was considered a key addition to their postseason performance en route to a victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV. The Chiefs have kept their defensive line light this season, but with Pennel emerging, Steve Spagnuolo said stopping the run will be key to a Week 15 victory over the Bailey Zapp-led Patriots.
