Liverpool handed ANOTHER 12.30pm kickoff with 2 fixtures moved for TV

Liverpool’s February Premier League changes have been confirmed and the game will resume at home at 12.30pm.

Fans have been unhappy with the number of 12:30 slots the Reds have had to fill in recent years. Jurgen Klopp himself complained about the international break and the number of early starts his side had after midweek commitments.

Although there has never been a fixture of this nature before, Liverpool v Brentford is scheduled for 12.30pm on Saturday 17th February, making it the fifth lunchtime kick-off of the season so far. It will be their fourth in five away trips and the first time they have not landed immediately after a midweek fixture or international break.Premier League regulations allow clubs to choose to play just six times a season, with a visit to the Community Stadium taking the Reds’ total to five games in the 2023/24 season.

United have often struggled in recent years, but recent signs suggest the trend is turning in a slightly more positive direction.Klopp’s side failed to win a single game in six matches at the start of last season, losing three and drawing three in an inconsistent season. However, this is Liverpool’s best record of the 2023/24 season, with three wins and a draw against Manchester City in four games so far on TNT Sports.

Another February fixture change came against Arsenal earlier this month. Klopp faces Mikel Arteta for the third time in six weeks. Liverpool will now face the Gunners at 4.30pm on Sunday, February 4, in what could have a huge impact on the title race, with both sides looking down on the rest at the top of the table. The two sides will play the second leg at Anfield on Saturday and the third leg of the FA Cup at the Emirates Stadium on January 7.

If United survive the busy festive period, they are likely to be in front of the title picture when the revamped fixture kicks off in February. The manager may not like the 12.30 kick-off, but in the seven days between the Burnley and Brentford meetings he will be hoping to get his side in tune and their positive record so far this season will continue .
