Liverpool receive boost as star player set to join the club in January

Liverpool have recalled Owen Beck after his loan spell at Dundee in January. The club’s official website confirmed the news amid multiple back injuries. Kostas Tsimikas is the latest to be on the treatment table after suffering a broken collarbone in the draw with title rivals Arsenal on 1-1 December. The Greece international follows Joel Matip, who suffered a season-ending ACL injury.

Time to sign a left centre-back
The decision is to strengthen at left-back, as 21-year-old Beck has impressed so far in the Scottish Premier League. That said, Joe Gomez has performed at a high level and while it may not be his natural position, we expect the club will want to keep the Englishman there for now.

Gomes, Liverpool
Joe Gomez has been amazing this season. However, this is a move that leaves us with very little time in the heart of the defence, with only Jarell Quansah’, Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk left to hold the fort.If you have time to recruit and recruit a new centre-back (and preferably a left-back), January would be a good time to do so.
