The New England Patriots hired Jerrod Mayo, 37, as Bill Belichick’s replacement and new head coach Friday morning.
Their next order of business is hiring a CEO. Former Tennessee Titans general manager John Robinson may be on their radar, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.Robinson’s ties to New England date back to 2002, when he began his career as a zone scout for the Patriots.
In 2009, he was promoted to director of college scouting, a position he held for five years before leaving for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2013 as the new director of player personnel.Robinson spent three seasons with the Bucs before becoming the head coach of the Titans in 2016. Under Robinson, Tennessee posted a 66-43 record, including six consecutive winning seasons.
He also had Derrick Henry, A.J. Brown and Jeffrey Simmon are examples. The Titans fired Robinson in 2022.Robinson has largely disappeared from the public eye since being fired from Tennessee, but that will surely change once he returns to New England.
