Now that the 2023 NFL season is over, as well as the Super Bowl season, PFF is starting to name players and friends for the season. One of the most interesting categories is being a member of the Cleveland Browns. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoa, the team’s third-year quarterback, was named the AFC North Secret Superstar by PFF (via PFF on Twitter).Owusu-Koramoa had a breakout year for the Browns this year. He joins Ravens’ Justice Hill, Steelers’ Jaylen Warren and Bengals’ Jordan Battle as secret superstars of the AFC North. This year, Owusu-Koramoa totaled 101 tackles, 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble and two interceptions. After totaling 146 tackles and 1.5 sacks in his first two seasons, Owusu-Koramoa seems to have come into his own this year.
In addition to his impressive statistical season, Owusu-Koramoa has always been the spark of the defense, impacting nearly every play, especially the run game. When Owusu-Koramoah makes a tackle himself, he often tells the ball carrier to change direction, allowing a teammate to make a play.
It was also one of the only positives in the Browns’ playoff game against the Houston Texans, where the Browns got blown out. Owusu-Koramoa finished the game with nine tackles and at times looked like the only Browns quarterback in the game.To top off a fantastic season, Owusu-Koramoa is expected to join T.J. Watt did not participate due to injury.
