The New England Patriots are in talks to add the former New York Giants head coach to their offensive line.Former Giants coach Ben McAdoo is in talks to join the Patriots as an assistant, according to MMQB’s Albert Briere. McAdoo will work with new offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt in the proposed role.
McAdoo is best known for having been the Giants’ head coach for less than two years. He went 13-15, but is fondly remembered for ending Eli Manning’s 210-game start streak in favor of Geno Smith.
His only major job since being fired by the Giants was offensive coordinator of the Carolina Panthers in 2022.
The Patriots are revamping their coaching staff after hiring Jerod Mayo as their head coach. Van Pelt joined the team last week after a stint with the Cleveland Browns and is clearly looking for more experience.
