These are just a few names that have become synonymous with the franchise.
Bill Belichick was that guy with the New England Patriots. Coaches are still the brightest faces for sports fans. When he left, it looked like there was a big hole to fill as Jerod Mayo was headed to another team.
But he hasn’t found a new home yet. Patriots owner Robert Kraft wished him well, via Fox News’ Ryan Gaydos and Larry Fink. “He’s very special. We’ve been blessed with him for 25 years and we wish him nothing but the best,” the Patriots owner said. Bill Belichick had two interviews with the Atlanta Falcons that didn’t pan out. Instead, Arthur Blank handed the job to Dan Quinn, ending Belichick’s hopes of becoming one of the league’s 32 head coaches.
Still, Robert Kraft knows that any team is lucky to have someone on their side who can build a dynasty. He talks about how Belichick was able to help him before breaking away and drafting Jerod Mayo to replace the Patriots. “I am proud that our collaboration lasted 24 years.
Bill has taught me a lot during this time and we have high hopes for what we can achieve together. “I think we were the only ones who had those expectations, but I can confidently say that we exceeded them,” Kraft said. The league still has coaches that have been revealed. It’s possible the former Patriots head coach will be a consultant to one of the league’s teams, but there’s no guarantee. I hope he gets a job before the season starts.
