
The Cleveland Browns recently hired Ken Dorsey as their offensive coordinator, and during Monday’s induction press conference, Dorsey spoke highly of quarterback Deshaun Watson.”He’s one of the best quarterbacks in this league,” Dorsey said, via JPA Football . “From everything I’ve heard about him, he’s a great guy, so I’m really excited about this opportunity.”Dorsey has served as the Buffalo Bills’ offensive coordinator for the past two years.
Meanwhile, Watson’s experience in Cleveland hasn’t gone completely according to plan.The Browns initially gave the signal caller a five-year, fully guaranteed $230 million contract after acquiring Watson in a blockbuster trade with the Houston Texans in March 2022. Even in his rookie season, Watson was suspended for 11 games for sexual harassment and played in only six games. While on the field, he threw for 1,102 yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 58.2 percent of his passes and posting a 79.1 passer rating.Last season, Watson was again limited to six games, but this time he suffered a shoulder injury that sidelined him for a year and required surgery. He posted similar numbers in 2022, finishing with 1,115 yards, seven touchdowns and four picks while completing 61.4 percent of his throws and posting an 84.3 passer rating.The 28-year-old is 8-4 in 12 games with Cleveland.Deshaun Watson spent the first five years of his career with the Texans and began his career with three consecutive Pro Bowl appearances. He takes office in 2021.The Browns lost to Houston in the wild card round of this year’s playoffs, 11-6.
