The New England Patriots are in severe need of a linebacker to cover for Ja’Whaun Bentley after his season-ending injury.
Linebacker E.J. Speed of the Indianapolis Colts is a fascinating possible trade target, according to ESPN’s Dan Graziano.
After a breakout 2023 campaign in which he recorded career-high stats of 102 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, four pass breakups, and three forced fumbles, the 29-year-old Speed is coming off the field. A defense that takes pride in its adaptability and toughness, like the Patriots, would benefit immediately from his athleticism and ability to make plays.
