In a move that solidifies the Cleveland Browns’ roster for the foreseeable future, star defensive end Myles Garrett has signed a four-year contract extension worth $120 million, effectively ending months of trade rumors. The new deal ensures Garrett, a cornerstone of the Browns’ defense since being drafted in 2017, will remain with the franchise through the 2029 season.
Garrett’s extension follows weeks of speculation that he might seek a trade due to disagreements over the team’s playoff performance. However, the All-Pro pass rusher reaffirmed his commitment to Cleveland in a heartfelt statement: “Cleveland is my home. This team and city have given me everything, and I want to bring a championship here.”
The contract reportedly includes $85 million in guaranteed money and a no-trade clause, signaling the team’s confidence in Garrett as a leader on and off the field. Head coach Kevin Stefanski praised the extension, calling Garrett “the heartbeat of our defense.”
This deal cements Garrett’s legacy in Cleveland and brings much-needed stability to a team aiming to return to playoff contention.
