Detroit Lions linebacker Kwon Alexander and defensive back Brian Branch were fined by the NFL for infractions during the team’s loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Alexander received a $6,722 fine for a late hit on quarterback Josh Allen during the second quarter, while Branch was fined $10,128 for a taunting penalty.
Alexander, who was signed from the Denver Broncos’ practice squad following Malcolm Rodriguez’s season-ending ACL injury, has provided a veteran presence for the Lions. The 10-year NFL veteran has played for seven teams and reunited with Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, who previously coached him in New Orleans. Glenn spoke highly of Alexander’s work ethic and leadership skills before the game against Buffalo.
“His practice habits are incredible, from walkthroughs to full practices,” Glenn said. “He’s vocal, leads as a linebacker should, and plays with speed and violence. His instincts are on another level, and we’re fortunate to have him back. He enjoys playing here, and we love having him.”
