The Cleveland Browns are giving quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson a chance to prove himself, but his performances so far have raised concerns. Despite his youth and potential to improve, he has struggled with decision-making and accuracy, leaving little reason for optimism about his future as a starting NFL quarterback.
NFL analyst Adam Gerstenhaber didn’t hold back when sharing his opinion on the rookie’s abilities.
“To me, there’s no signs that he’s an NFL starting quarterback. All he can do is dink and dunk the ball down the field,” Gerstenhaber said.
While his criticism rings true based on Thompson-Robinson’s career so far, it’s also important to note the challenges the Browns have faced this season. A depleted offense due to injuries and a lackluster running game have made it difficult to properly evaluate the young quarterback.
Adding to the challenge, Cleveland’s final three games of the season are against tough opponents: the Bengals, Dolphins, and Ravens.
Heading into the offseason, the Browns are likely to prioritize finding a reliable quarterback to lead the team back to contention. The stakes are high, as even the future of star defensive player Myles Garrett could hinge on the team’s ability to solve their quarterback woes.
