Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin didn’t hold back after his team’s 29-10 loss to the Chiefs on Christmas, calling the performance “that sucked.” The loss, which extended the Steelers’ losing streak to three games, dropped their record to 10-6, leaving them behind the Ravens in the AFC North with only one game left in the regular season.
Tomlin pointed to several issues in the game, including turnovers, penalties, poor special teams play, and a defense that failed to sack Patrick Mahomes while allowing four touchdown drives. He emphasized that the team’s current approach is not good enough, stating, “junior varsity is not good enough” and stressing the need for significant changes. Tomlin confirmed that the team would use the extra days before Week 18 to thoroughly evaluate their performance and make necessary adjustments, as continuing on their current path is not sustainable. Despite the playoff berth, Tomlin’s words make it clear that the Steelers’ playoff run will be short-lived if they don’t improve.
