The Cleveland Browns gave Dorian Thompson-Robinson a chance as their starting quarterback in Week 16, but after two games, many believe the experiment should end.
Thomas Moore didn’t hold back after Thompson-Robinson’s poor performance in the Browns’ Week 17 loss to the Miami Dolphins.
“After two games, the lesson is clear: Thompson-Robinson is not a viable starting quarterback, and there are serious questions about his ability to even serve as a backup,” Moore stated.
The fifth-round pick from UCLA, drafted in 2023, has struggled mightily during his time in Cleveland. In 14 appearances and five starts, Thompson-Robinson has amassed just 867 yards, one touchdown, and 10 interceptions while completing only 52.4% of his passes.
In 2024 alone, he has thrown six interceptions without recording a single touchdown. His most recent outing against Miami saw him go 24-for-47 for 170 yards and an interception.
Moore suggested that Cleveland might consider starting Bailey Zappe in the season finale, as Thompson-Robinson’s continued struggles leave little hope for improvement.
With the Browns sitting at 3-13, significant changes are expected under center in 2025. Whether through the draft, a trade, or free agency, Cleveland will likely look to overhaul their quarterback situation heading into next season.
