Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry is facing criticism for his decisions, particularly when it comes to the quarterback position. Despite Deshaun Watson’s uncertain future with the team, and with Jameis Winston possibly on the way out or limited to a backup role, the Browns are still in need of a reliable starting QB. Dorian Thompson-Robinson has struggled to impress since joining the league, which has led analyst Garrett Bush to question Berry’s decision-making, especially after cutting Tyler Huntley to keep Thompson-Robinson. Huntley, who led the Dolphins to victory over Thompson-Robinson, has clearly outperformed him, both in terms of numbers and on the field.
With the Browns holding the No. 3 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, the team is in a strong position to either select a top quarterback like Cam Ward or trade down for additional assets. Many fans hope the Browns will address their quarterback situation in the draft, but they may also pursue a veteran in free agency given the depth of the quarterback class. Regardless of the route they take, it’s clear the Browns need a major upgrade at quarterback to remain competitive next season.
