Myles Garrett’s Cryptic Comments Spark Speculation About Browns Departure”

The Cleveland Browns suffered another tough loss on Sunday, falling 20-3 to the undermanned Miami Dolphins and dropping to 3-13 on the season. For fans in Northeast Ohio, this disappointment is all too familiar—so is it for Myles Garrett, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year. Since being selected as the first overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Garrett has seen the Browns amass a 53-77-1 record and make just three playoff appearances.

Despite Garrett’s consistent dominance on the field, Cleveland’s struggles as a team could ultimately lead to his departure. However, after what might have been his last home game with the Browns, Garrett wasn’t ready to discuss his future.

“I don’t think about that kind of stuff,” Garrett said postgame, according to The Associated Press. “My focus is on helping this team as a leader, a brother, and a teammate. That’s all I’m concerned with. Right now, it’s about recovering, studying film, and figuring out how we can beat the Ravens next week and play spoiler.”

The Browns will face the Ravens in Week 18, looking to complete their first season sweep of Baltimore since 2007.

 Garrett’s Historic Achievements

Earlier in December, Garrett made NFL history as the first player to reach 100 career sacks before turning 29. On Sunday, he added another milestone, becoming the first player to record 14 or more sacks in five consecutive seasons.

Despite his accomplishments, Garrett remained focused on team success. “At the end of the day, it’s about wins,” he said. “The individual stuff is great, but cities remember you for bringing championships home.”

While that sentiment may hold true for most places, Cleveland has a long history of cherishing its sports icons—even those who fell short of delivering titles. Players like Mark Price, Albert Belle, Jim Thome, Ozzie Newsome, and Joe Thomas are beloved by Cleveland fans. Similarly, Garrett and Nick Chubb are likely to be remembered fondly, regardless of the team’s struggles.
