Cleveland’s Next Move: Insider Predicts Game-Changing QB Addition

The Cleveland Browns are reportedly gearing up for a major shift at quarterback this offseason. After a disappointing season, it’s becoming clear that Deshaun Watson may not be the solution moving forward.

This raises the question: who should the Browns target to lead their offense in 2025?

Speculation has included names like Kirk Cousins, Aaron Rodgers, Justin Fields, and several top NFL Draft prospects. Any of these options could provide Cleveland with a better outlook than Watson.

Former New York Jets general manager and ESPN NFL insider Mike Tannenbaum recently made a bold prediction: the Browns will bring in Kirk Cousins this offseason. He went as far as to suggest Cousins could lead Cleveland to an AFC North title in 2025.

Cousins, who was benched by the Atlanta Falcons late in the 2024 season, struggled at times but remains a proven veteran. In 14 games, he completed 66.9% of his passes for 3,508 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions. While turnovers are a concern, Cousins has the experience and skill set to bounce back with a strong 2025 campaign.

At 36 years old, Cousins wouldn’t be a long-term solution but could give the Browns a two- to three-year window to find their quarterback of the future while Watson’s costly contract remains on the books.

Although there’s no concrete evidence the Browns are pursuing Cousins, the potential fit makes sense for both sides. Cleveland could gain stability at quarterback, and Cousins could have a fresh start with a team looking to turn things around.

This offseason, keep a close eye on Cleveland as the search for a new quarterback could be the catalyst for a much-needed rebuild.
