Trade Rumors Swirl: Browns To Part Ways with a Key Offensive Star

The Cleveland Browns could see significant roster changes after a disappointing 3-14 season. Among the potential moves, offensive tackle Jack Conklin has been identified as a top trade candidate by Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox.

Knox highlighted Conklin’s value as a two-time First-Team All-Pro, but also noted the financial and roster implications of keeping him. “Trading Conklin could help free up cap space and add draft capital,” Knox wrote, referencing the strain of Deshaun Watson’s massive contract on the team’s finances.

Signed by the Browns in 2020, Conklin made an immediate impact, earning All-Pro honors in his first season. However, injuries have plagued the 30-year-old over the past few years, limiting him to just 34 games in four seasons. Despite this, the Browns extended him in December 2022 with a four-year, $60 million contract—a decision that hasn’t fully paid off.

With two years left on his deal and $28 million in base salary due in 2025 and 2026, Conklin’s decline and injury history make him a challenging trade asset. While moving him could help the Browns rebuild, finding a willing trade partner remains uncertain.
