The Cleveland Browns are likely to see significant roster changes following their disappointing 3-14 season. Among the players who could be on the move is offensive tackle Jack Conklin, who Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox identified as one of the NFL’s top 10 trade candidates this offseason.
Knox noted that while keeping Conklin, a two-time First-Team All-Pro, might be logical, trading him could help the Browns free up cap space and add draft picks. He pointed out that Conklin remains a high-level player when healthy, but Cleveland’s financial constraints—exacerbated by Deshaun Watson’s hefty contract—make roster restructuring a necessity.
Conklin joined the Browns in 2020 and had an impressive debut season, earning All-Pro honors. However, injuries have taken a toll on the 30-year-old in recent years. Despite his struggles, the Browns gave him a four-year, $60 million extension in December 2022, a decision that has yet to yield strong returns. Conklin has played in just 34 games over the last four seasons and appears to be in decline.
With two years left on his contract and $28 million in base salary due in 2025 and 2026, finding a trade partner for the oft-injured lineman may prove challenging.
