Lions Set to Part Ways on Mutual Terms with Veteran Tight End

Detroit, MI – The Detroit Lions have confirmed they will be parting ways with veteran tight end T.J. Hockenson, marking the end of his time with the team. The decision, made mutually by both the player and the organization, comes after careful consideration regarding Hockenson’s role and the team’s future plans.

Hockenson, who was drafted by the Lions in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, has been a key figure in Detroit’s offense over the past few seasons. His ability to both block and make crucial catches down the field has earned him a solid reputation around the league. Sources indicate that the move allows the Lions to explore new directions with their roster while Hockenson looks to pursue other opportunities as a free agent.

“We want to thank T.J. for his contributions to the Lions both on and off the field,” said Lions General Manager Brad Holmes. “His work ethic and professionalism have made him a valuable part of our team, and we wish him the best moving forward.”

T.J. Hockenson is expected to be a sought-after player on the open market, and he will now look to contribute to another team’s offense in the coming seasons.
