As of February 20, 2025, there have been no recent reports of the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team receiving a points deduction. The most recent incident involving a points adjustment occurred during a game against the Tennessee Volunteers on February 12, 2025. In that game, a goaltending call was overturned at halftime, resulting in the Wildcats losing two points. Despite this, Kentucky secured a victory.
Historically, the Kentucky Wildcats have faced significant penalties. In the 1951 point-shaving scandal, several players were implicated, leading to the cancellation of the entire 1952–53 basketball season. Additionally, during the 1988–89 season, the program was investigated for multiple NCAA violations, resulting in a three-year probation and a two-year postseason ban.
It’s important to note that the Kentucky Wildcats football program recently faced sanctions. In August 2024, the NCAA placed the football and swimming programs on two-year probation due to infractions, leading to the vacating of all 10 wins from the 2021 football season.
However, there have been no recent points deductions or sanctions affecting the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team.
