The Kentucky Wildcats are facing a series of injury challenges as they approach the end of the regular season. In their recent 83-82 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners, guard Jaxson Robinson, who had just returned from a wrist injury, was limited to 12 minutes and did not play in the second half due to concerns about his wrist.
Head coach Mark Pope expressed post-game that while Robinson’s condition is being monitored, the team remains hopeful for his swift recovery.
Additionally, guard Lamont Butler, who had missed the previous three games, returned to the lineup but fouled out with over four minutes remaining. Despite this, Coach Pope indicated that Butler’s condition appears stable.
Forward Andrew Carr, recently back from injury, experienced back issues during the game. Coach Pope noted that Carr seems to be doing okay, but emphasized the importance of monitoring his response in the days following the game.
These injury concerns arise as the Wildcats prepare to face the top-ranked Auburn Tigers at Rupp Arena on March 1st. The team is focusing on minimizing defensive lapses and effectively reintegrating players to maintain chemistry heading into postseason play.
