Lamont Butler makes decision on his Kentucky future after Mark Popes comments

Kentucky Wildcats guard Lamont Butler has been sidelined due to a shoulder injury since late January. Head coach Mark Pope recently provided a positive update on Butler’s recovery, stating, “Lamont is making progress. It’s a complicated situation, and so it’s gonna continue. We’re just gonna continue to kind of hope for the best.”

Butler’s absence has been felt deeply, especially during Kentucky’s recent back-to-back losses to Arkansas and Ole Miss. Prior to his injury, Butler was averaging 13.2 points, 4.8 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game, highlighting his importance to the team’s success on both ends of the floor.

While a specific timeline for Butler’s return has not been provided, his progress is a positive sign for the Wildcats as they look to strengthen their backcourt in the upcoming games.
