The Kentucky Wildcats are dancing, and while they didn’t win the SEC Tournament, their resume speaks for itself.
The Cats had two wins over Tennessee and a win over Duke as well to help bolster its case as a top-12 team in the country. That, and the SEC being a historically difficult conference this season, certainly bodes well for the Cats.
Kentucky was named the No. 3 seed in the Midwest Region, and it will be traveling north to take on the Troy Trojans in Milwaukee. With the Cats being a No. 3 seed and there being four regions, it is understood that they are somewhere between the 9th and 12th-best teams in the country.
That said, Kentucky is at No. 11 in the official Selection Committee seed ranking. With a 22-11 record, the Cats performed at a high level for most of Mark Pope’s first season in Lexington. Let’s hope he can continue that success and make a deep NCAA Tournament run.
