Lindsey Vonn Breaks the Silence: Sends Powerful Message to Mikaela Shiffrin After Skiing Season Success

After a season marked by both competition and camaraderie, Lindsey Vonn has extended heartfelt congratulations to Mikaela Shiffrin and Breezy Johnson for their outstanding performances at the 2025 World Alpine Ski Championships. Shiffrin and Johnson secured the inaugural gold in the women’s team combined event, a testament to their synergy and skill on the slopes. Vonn, who, alongside teammate AJ Hurt, finished 16th in the event, took to social media to express her support, posting, “Congrats @breezyjohnsonski @mikaelashiffrin 🥇💪” on her Instagram story.

This gesture of goodwill comes after earlier tensions regarding team pairings for the event. Vonn had expressed disappointment upon learning through social media that Shiffrin would partner with Johnson instead of her. Reflecting on the situation, Vonn acknowledged her misstep, stating, “Maybe I didn’t help myself or the team by having my Twitter fingers out… But at the same time, I’m a human being and I was disappointed in the communication.”

Beyond the championships, Vonn has lauded Shiffrin’s contributions to alpine skiing, especially as Shiffrin approaches a historic milestone. With 97 World Cup victories to her name, Shiffrin is on the verge of breaking the 100-win barrier. Vonn remarked, “The fact that she didn’t just break the record but now she’s going to break 100 is crazy… We all push each other to break new glass ceilings.”

Vonn’s support underscores her commitment to fostering growth and unity within the skiing community, celebrating the achievements of her peers while advocating for the sport’s advancement.
