Michael Halbye, a prominent Danish executive and philanthropist, tragically passed away following a skiing accident in the Swiss Alps on Monday, authorities confirmed.
The accident occurred near the popular resort town of Verbier, where Halbye was reportedly skiing with friends during a private holiday. According to local police, Halbye lost control on a steep slope and collided with a tree, suffering critical injuries. Despite rapid medical response and being airlifted to a nearby hospital, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Halbye, 52, was best known for his role as a senior partner at global consultancy firm McKinsey & Company, where he spent over two decades shaping corporate strategy and mentoring upcoming leaders. Outside of his professional career, he was actively involved in philanthropic initiatives focused on education and sustainability.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing, though officials have noted that weather conditions were clear at the time of the accident.
