Man Dies in Ski Accident at NH’s Black Mountain Ski Area

A tragic skiing accident at Black Mountain Ski Area in Jackson, New Hampshire, has claimed the life of a man over the weekend, according to local authorities.

Emergency responders were called to the mountain on Sunday afternoon following reports of a serious crash on one of the trails. The skier, whose identity has not yet been released pending family notification, was found unresponsive by ski patrol and was transported down the mountain for immediate medical attention.

Despite resuscitation efforts, the man was pronounced dead shortly after. Officials believe he lost control while descending one of the more challenging trails, leading to a high-impact collision with a tree. He was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

Black Mountain Ski Area, one of the oldest ski resorts in the state, expressed their condolences in a statement and said they are fully cooperating with authorities as the investigation continues.

The mountain remained open to the public following the incident, though the trail where the accident occurred was temporarily closed.

Further details are expected once the investigation concludes and the medical examiner releases the official cause of death.
