A tragic ski incident at Red Mountain Resort has claimed the life of a man, local authorities confirmed late Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to reports of a serious accident on the slopes earlier in the day. The skier, whose identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin, was found unresponsive by ski patrol after reportedly losing control on one of the resort’s more advanced runs.
Despite immediate first aid efforts and rapid transportation to a nearby medical facility, the man succumbed to his injuries.
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic event,” said a spokesperson for Red Mountain Resort. “Our thoughts are with the individual’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
The exact cause of the incident is still under investigation, but RCMP stated that no foul play is suspected. Weather conditions at the time were reported to be clear, with good visibility and moderate snowpack.
This marks the first fatality at the resort this season. Red Mountain officials say they will continue working with local authorities to ensure the highest level of safety for all visitors.
Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
