A British skier has tragically died after falling into a stream while skiing in the Swiss Alps, local authorities confirmed today.
The incident occurred near the popular resort of Verbier, where the skier reportedly lost control on a steep slope and plunged into a fast-moving alpine stream. Despite efforts by rescue teams and emergency services, the skier was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials have not yet released the victim’s name but confirmed they were a British national in their 30s. An investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
Local police have reminded skiers to exercise caution, especially as warmer spring temperatures can increase the risk of unstable snow and hidden hazards in off-piste areas.
