
University of Kentucky men’s basketball head coach Mark Pope surprised fans and the college basketball world with a major personal announcement on Sunday night.
In a heartfelt message shared via social media, Pope revealed that he and his wife, Lee Anne, are expecting their fourth child later this year. The post, accompanied by a family photo and an ultrasound image, quickly went viral, drawing congratulations from fans, players, and fellow coaches alike.
“This journey just keeps getting better,” Pope wrote. “Lee Anne and I are thrilled to share that Baby Pope #4 is on the way! Our family is feeling incredibly blessed.”
The announcement comes as Pope gears up for his second season as head coach of the Wildcats, following a promising start in the 2024-2025 season. Known for his high-energy coaching style and strong connection with players, Pope has quickly become a fan favorite in Lexington.
While the announcement was personal in nature, it was also met with warm support from the university.
