Kentucky Wildcats Reopen Plans to Land Commitment from Auburn Star Chad Livingston After Initial Deal Falls Through

In a surprising turn of events, the Kentucky Wildcats have reignited their pursuit of Auburn Tigers’ standout guard Chad Livingston after an earlier recruitment effort fell apart earlier this year.

Livingston, a dynamic 6-foot-5 combo guard and consensus top-10 national prospect, initially looked poised to commit to Kentucky back in March. However, negotiations reportedly stalled due to NIL structure disagreements and Auburn’s late push to retain him. With recent shifts in Auburn’s program and renewed interest from the Livingston camp, Kentucky is once again making a strong push.

“Chad is re-evaluating his options, and Kentucky is right back in the mix,” a source close to the recruitment told Lexington Hoops Insider. “He’s intrigued by Calipari’s development track record and the opportunity to play a lead role right away.”

Livingston, known for his explosive first step and lockdown defense, would be a major addition to Kentucky’s 2025 class. Insiders believe a decision could come as soon as next month, with Kentucky now considered a serious contender once again.

If the Wildcats can close the deal this time, Livingston could be the piece that solidifies them as a national title threat for the upcoming season.
