As the Kentucky Wildcats gear up for a new era under head coach Mark Pope, sophomore center Brandon Garrison is stepping into a leadership role—and he’s making it clear that the Big Blue Nation (BBN) will rally behind the team, no matter who wears the jersey.
“BBN is going to show them nothing but love,” Garrison said in a recent interview, sending a resounding message of unity and support to Kentucky’s incoming transfers. With a roster full of fresh faces and high expectations, Garrison’s words highlight a growing sense of brotherhood within the Wildcats’ locker room.
A transfer himself from Oklahoma State, Garrison knows what it’s like to walk into the historic program with big dreams and even bigger shoes to fill. After a solid first season in Lexington—averaging 5.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and showing promising range from beyond the arc—he’s now embracing a mentorship role for the new wave of talent.
Mark Pope, who took over the reins of the program last year, has emphasized player development and culture as key pillars of his rebuild. Garrison’s vocal support for his teammates—especially those arriving through the portal—reflects that philosophy in action.
“We’re brothers now,” Garrison added. “Once you’re part of this family, it’s all love. These fans will back you through everything—as long as you fight for Kentucky.”
With the 2025–26 season fast approaching, Garrison is expected to play a pivotal role not just on the court, but as a tone-setter for Pope’s squad. His message to the incoming players is simple but powerful: the legacy of Kentucky basketball is built on passion, and the BBN stands ready to embrace everyone who adds to that story.
