In a remarkable act of compassion and vision, humanitarian and entrepreneur Otega Oweh has turned an abandoned, crumbling structure into a thriving safe haven for 200 orphans—providing not just shelter, but a new beginning.
What was once a forgotten building in the heart of the city has been completely refurbished into a fully equipped orphanage featuring clean dormitories with beds, a stocked library, classrooms, a medical clinic, and a recreation area. The facility is now a vibrant home where children can sleep safely, study freely, and dream boldly.
“This is more than just a roof over their heads,” said Oweh during the unveiling ceremony. “It’s a chance for these children to rewrite their stories and believe in a future filled with opportunity.”
The transformation was entirely funded by Oweh, whose commitment to youth development has earned him growing respect nationwide. Volunteers and educators have also stepped in, offering tutoring, emotional support, and skill-based training to help the children thrive.
The safe haven has quickly become a symbol of what’s possible when purpose meets action. Community members and government officials have praised the initiative, calling it “a model for grassroots-driven impact.”
For the 200 orphans now calling it home, this isn’t just a shelter—it’s a second chance, made possible by the kindness, heart, and leadership of Otega Oweh.
